Responsibilities
- Lead test strategies for switch software and cloud deployments across functionality, compliance, integration, scale, interoperability, and performance scenarios.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites, test infrastructure, orchestration, environment provisioning, and CI/CD integrations for hyperscale and multi-cloud environments.
- Review test plans, test cases, QA artifacts, defects, reports, and automation scripts against product architecture and quality objectives.
- Establish testing standards for programmable networks and APIs, including REST, GraphQL, YANG, gRPC, and AI-driven test scenarios.
- Lead QA initiatives addressing high-availability failures, brownfield migrations, scale issues, deployment pain points, and cost optimization.
- Troubleshoot customer deployments, production issues, and lab environments using debugging, log analysis, diagnostics, reproducible tests, and regression automation.
- Represent QA in technical forums and architecture reviews while advocating for observability, testability, and fault tolerance.
- Mentor and coach engineers and QA peers and improve testing processes, cycle time, coverage, and product reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of hands-on QA testing and automation experience delivering high-quality software.
- Demonstrated cloud architect experience designing large-scale test and automation programs.
- Strong solution-testing expertise across networking and cloud environments, including deployment, validation, scale, performance, latency, greenfield deployments, and brownfield migrations.
- Direct experience diagnosing and resolving customer issues in live production environments.
- Knowledge of Network Management Systems, routing, switching, IP, VLAN, LACP, STP/MSTP, BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, QoS, Multicast, high availability, and stacking systems.
- Advanced automation and programming skills, with Python and preferably Cypress, plus experience building automation infrastructure and strategy from the ground up.
- Advanced knowledge of at least one public cloud platform, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with Kubernetes-based test orchestration.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for networked and cloud systems.
- Hands-on experience applying AI/ML techniques to test optimization and intelligent synthetic data generation.
- Understanding of product development lifecycle, technical requirements, computer architecture, data structures, and software engineering best practices.
- Proven technical leadership experience resolving customer issues, contributing technically, mentoring engineers, and presenting architecture and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
