Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable UI automation frameworks for Guidewire applications using TestCafe, JavaScript, JSON-based test data, modular architectures, and custom HTML reporting.
  • Define and drive automation strategy, test coverage, quality goals, execution priorities, effort estimates, and quality risk assessment for Professional Services projects.
  • Develop, review, optimize, and refactor reusable automation scripts for complex Gherkin/BDD-style requirements across web and API layers.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, and Azure DevOps.
  • Use Ignite to generate and refine Page Objects and create custom JavaScript functions for end-to-end and regression scenarios.
  • Execute and debug automation runs, identify application defects versus script issues, and stabilize flaky tests.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps, and project teams to plan test efforts and communicate quality and defect insights.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and partner teams on automation best practices while contributing to AI- and automation-enabled Professional Services methodologies.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of overall QA experience, including at least 3 years leading automation initiatives or serving as a senior automation engineer on complex projects.
  • Strong JavaScript programming skills and experience building or extending UI and ideally API test automation frameworks with data-driven and modular architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium, with willingness to primarily use TestCafe.
  • Practical experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and using Git or Bitbucket for version control and code review.
  • Ability to interpret BDD/Gherkin-style requirements and translate them into maintainable automated test suites.
  • Experience with test reporting and defect tracking using JIRA and test reporting libraries.
  • Experience collaborating, communicating, and mentoring in cross-functional, globally distributed teams.
  • Ability to embrace AI and apply data-driven insights to improve innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Preferred experience in Professional Services, consulting, customer-facing project delivery, SaaS, or cloud environments.
  • Preferred exposure to P&C insurance or financial services domains.
  • Preferred familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerized or cloud-native environments using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Preferred background in performance, reliability, or non-functional testing in addition to functional automation.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
