Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, implementation, modernization, and support of scalable, resilient, cloud-native enterprise applications.
- Drive architecture, technical design, architecture reviews, engineering governance, and technical strategy across multiple projects and application domains.
- Provide technical leadership for complex engineering initiatives and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and engineering standards.
- Partner with business, product, architecture, and technology teams to define solution strategies and deliver outcomes.
- Lead performance optimization, resiliency improvements, security reviews, risk remediation, compliance, and production stability initiatives.
- Establish engineering best practices for coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and automation.
- Use AI-powered coding assistants and engineering agents to improve development efficiency, code quality, and developer productivity.
- Apply Context Engineering and AI-first development practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Mentor senior and junior engineers and drive technical skill development across teams.
- Serve as a recognized subject matter expert and technical advisor for stakeholders, architects, and engineering leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of application development experience.
- Strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, multithreading and concurrency, collections, transaction management, SQL/RDBMS, cloud platforms, Kafka, and MongoDB.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
- Experience driving technical design, architecture reviews, engineering governance, and technical initiatives across teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives across teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, independent execution, and organizational influence skills.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, cloud-native platforms, observability, monitoring, SRE practices, and AI coding agents such as Lightspeed, GitHub Copilot, or Devin AI.
- Understanding of Context Engineering, prompt design, Agentic SDLC practices, secure software development, and application security.
- Nice-to-have exposure to GenAI applications, LLM-powered solutions, RAG, MCP, and AI platform integrations.
