Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate a GPU platform on GCP for AI workloads using infrastructure-as-code.
- Deliver self-service compute for data science teams, including job submission, queuing, quotas, and cost visibility.
- Build golden paths for deploying services so product teams can ship without handling operations each time.
- Support deployment, hosting, and production operation of machine learning models.
- Manage GPU and cloud infrastructure costs.
- Collaborate with data science teams from proof of concept through production service deployment.
- Improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Automate internal workflows and use AI-powered systems where appropriate.
- Establish platform practices and mentor future team members.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Platform, DevOps, or MLOps Engineer.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and understanding of distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps practices, CRDs, operators, scheduling, autoscaling, node pool design, state management, ArgoCD, and Helm.
- Solid GCP experience; real-world AWS experience is a strong plus.
- Ability to work autonomously with a platform-as-a-product mindset, document solutions, measure adoption, research independently, and establish technical precedents.
- Fluent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Preferred experience running or optimizing production GPU workloads for machine learning training or inference.
- Preferred experience with distributed job scheduling tools such as KubeRay, Slurm, or Kubeflow.
- Preferred experience with cross-cloud networking, including Interconnect, VPN, Private Service Connect, and identity federation between AWS and GCP.
- Preferred familiarity with MLOps tools such as MLflow, Weights & Biases, and model registries.
