Base Salary
$230k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design, architectural strategy, and implementation of new backend infrastructure optimized for security, reliability, and scale.
- Design secure data pipelines and APIs integrating government-backed registries, employer contribution frameworks, and institutional banking systems.
- Guide engineering teams across the brokerage ecosystem, establish code-quality standards, and mentor senior engineers.
- Partner with Product, Security, Legal, Compliance, and external stakeholders on technical and regulatory requirements.
- Own backend stability and performance tuning before high-volume rollouts and public launch.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with staff- or principal-level experience driving technical vision and architecture for large-scale distributed systems.
- Mastery of Python or Go for high-throughput, low-latency distributed infrastructure and secure data pipelines.
- Deep expertise in domain modeling, microservices architecture, and reliable APIs supporting complex cross-functional data flows.
- Experience executing in a zero-to-one product environment and resolving complex technical ambiguity.
- Experience serving as an organization-wide technical point of contact and mentoring senior engineers.
- Strong communication skills and experience translating legal or regulatory constraints into maintainable backend infrastructure.
