Responsibilities
- Lead technical teams and define technical strategy and architecture across multiple services.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain software throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
- Deliver new features and run-and-maintain activities for UK Government digital services.
- Drive code reviews, quality assurance, process optimisation, and high-quality end products.
- Lead projects from analysis and design through implementation and QA while managing stakeholders.
- Mentor and coach developers and foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Collaborate with Product, UCD, Delivery, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Translate customer requirements into technical designs and present technical information to non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Experience leading technical teams and defining technical strategy and architecture for multiple services.
- Full-stack or backend background with experience in Python and TypeScript or similar technologies.
- Experience with AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure and Terraform infrastructure as code.
- Experience delivering UK Government digital services and understanding the GDS/NHS Service Standard and assessment process.
- Experience leading projects from start to finish and managing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with quality assurance, code reviews, process optimisation, and full lifecycle delivery.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, coaching, and prioritisation skills.
- Understanding of user-centred working, accessibility, and inclusive design, including WCAG standards, is desirable.
- Experience delivering digital services in multidisciplinary product teams or complex organisations is desirable.
- Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to travel to client sites anywhere in the UK when needed.
