Base Salary
$78k - $97k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement control systems at electric utilities while meeting contract requirements and specifications.
- Participate in the design, planning, and execution of ADMS projects.
- Support customer testing events and configure, integrate, and test software components.
- Install and configure Distribution Power Flow, Fault Location Isolation & Service Restoration, and Volt/VAR Control & Optimization applications.
- Troubleshoot, prioritize, and test product changes with software development teams.
- Extract, translate, and load electrical network models from utility GIS teams into the Distribution Management System.
- Train customers to operate delivered systems and provide technical support for issues on live systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred; a master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering or equivalent is also preferred.
- Experience triaging complex systems and software applications is preferred.
- Programming and scripting experience with C or Python is preferred.
- Database and data-structure knowledge involving SQL, XML, Mongo, or GIS is preferred.
- Understanding of electric distribution power systems and modeling, including load flow, coordination, and arc flash studies, is preferred.
- Operations or engineering experience at an electric utility is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, prioritization, and ability to work within tight timelines are required.
- Must be willing to travel approximately 25% on average.
