Responsibilities
- Own the operational health, availability, SLOs, error budgets, and client-impact trends for assigned business services or payment flows.
- Lead incident, problem, and change management for full-stack payment systems and escalate issues cross-functionally to executive stakeholders.
- Own controls and regulatory evidence including patch compliance, certificate expiry, vulnerability aging, and end-of-life exposure.
- Automate manual evidence collection and repetitive operational work while measuring toil reduction and returned capacity.
- Partner with application development and central SRE/observability teams under shared reliability services agreements.
- Build service coverage depth by eliminating single-person dependencies and naming backup owners.
Requirements
- Require 5+ years operating payment or financial-services production systems with accountability for service availability and incident outcomes.
- Require experience owning SLOs, error budgets, or equivalent reliability engineering practices in a large-scale regulated technology environment.
- Require working knowledge of payment flows including authorization, clearing, settlement, billing, and payment or rebate processes.
- Require experience partnering with controls, risk, and audit functions on production evidence and regulatory findings.
- Require experience with observability or monitoring tooling and automation or scripting for toil elimination.
- Prefer experience operating under a formal SRE or reliability operating model.
- Prefer experience with AI-assisted operations such as RCA, ECC, or runbook automation under outcome-gated governance.
- Prefer cross-business-unit or multi-region service ownership experience.
