Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable IBM mainframe solutions for high-volume cards and payments transaction processing.
- Translate cards and payments requirements into reliable technical solutions and system enhancements with business and product teams.
- Improve application stability through performance optimization, proactive monitoring, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Review technical deliverables for security, audit, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead technical initiatives, collaborate with distributed stakeholders, mentor junior engineers, and promote engineering best practices.
- Support testing strategies including functional, integration, and performance testing.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in mainframe development.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM mainframe technologies, batch processing, transaction processing, and enterprise application development.
- Expertise with IBM mainframe utilities, Job Control Language (JCL), debugging tools, and data management processes.
- Experience supporting cards, payments, banking, or other financial services applications.
- Understanding of secure development, data protection, and financial systems regulatory requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and production incidents and drive long-term improvements.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and collaborating with distributed teams and stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with card processing, payment authorization, clearing, settlement, mainframe performance optimization, batch scheduling, resource utilization, technical architecture, solution design, modernization, and testing strategies.
