Responsibilities
- Define and implement repeatable, scalable automated test strategies for embedded software and system behavior.
- Create and maintain test automation frameworks, reusable libraries, and tooling primarily in Python, with C/C++ for harnesses and embedded hooks.
- Design verification approaches for embedded constraints and behaviors, including RTOS concepts, interrupts, timers, concurrency, memory, and I/O.
- Derive test plans and test cases from requirements and maintain traceability across requirements, test execution, and results.
- Develop or use simulated and bench-based MIL/SIL/HIL test environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing embedded software and applying it to verification and automated test development for embedded systems.
- Strong proficiency in C and working knowledge of C++, Python, and additional scripting languages as applicable.
- Familiarity with embedded systems concepts including RTOS, interrupts, timers, and memory management.
- Exposure to CAN and J1939 or similar automotive and off-highway communication protocols.
- Experience with static and unit testing tools such as GoogleTest, Parasoft C/C++test, or TPT.
- Experience with MIL/SIL/HIL testing and simulated or bench-based test environments.
- Experience using ALM tools for requirements traceability, such as Visure, DOORS, PTC Integrity, or Polarion.
- Experience designing controls for automotive, aerospace, off-road, or industrial equipment.
