$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain firmware and low-level device drivers for automotive-grade components and AV sensors.
- Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, and low-level software deployment for custom autonomous computing platforms.
- Collaborate with electrical and hardware engineers on hardware-software interfaces, schematic reviews, and component selection.
- Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and software profiling to debug system-level issues and optimize sensor data pipelines.
- Ensure timing and network synchronization across the vehicle and contribute to embedded architecture, code quality, and deployment practices.
- Mentor team members and serve as a technical resource within the hardware team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional embedded software development experience using modern C/C++ in RTOS, Embedded Linux, or bare-metal environments.
- Strong experience developing firmware and device drivers for automotive-grade components, SoCs, and autonomous vehicle sensors.
- Hands-on experience with sensor integration, board bring-up, hardware debugging tools, and automotive interfaces and vehicle networks.
- Experience taking embedded hardware systems from prototyping and third-party integration through production deployment.
- Preferred: experience with custom board design collaboration, automotive functional safety, ISO 26262, MISRA C/C++, distributed timing, PTP/gPTP, IEEE 802.1AS, and hardware PPS routing.
- Preferred: experience with NVIDIA DRIVE, Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride, and hardware accelerators including GPUs, DSPs, and NPUs.
