Base Salary
$177k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and deliver high-quality, reliable C++ software for embedded devices.
- Integrate automotive sensors and enable large-scale data capture and streaming.
- Develop and maintain soft-real-time Linux applications for data collection, storage, and edge machine learning inference.
- Create fault-tolerant software with comprehensive diagnostics for deployed vehicle fleets.
- Design and use monitoring tools to improve performance and resolve systemic and ad hoc issues.
- Collaborate with Hardware, Product, Project, Engineering management, Embodied AI, and Science teams.
- Promote testing, documentation, usability, tooling, mentorship, and collaboration best practices.
Requirements
- Proficiency developing high-performance embedded Linux systems software in C++ and managing the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience with automotive sensors and technologies such as cameras, LiDAR, radar, IMU, GNSS, or localization systems.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux, build systems, and user-space applications.
- Strong understanding of IPC middleware for high-throughput robotics applications, including frameworks such as ROS or other automotive middleware.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and how to improve their scalability and performance.
- Ability to debug stack traces, core dumps, disk-write performance, system load, memory bottlenecks, device bottlenecks, and threading issues.
- Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, or real-world sensing applications is desirable.
- Experience with embedded Linux, real-time operating systems such as QNX, or automotive SoCs is desirable.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including UDP/TCP, Ethernet-based communications, and network bottleneck debugging, is desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
