Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain backend software components and services integrating with blockchain networks and digital asset infrastructure.
- Implement blockchain integrations including node connectivity, transaction submission, on-chain event monitoring, and wallet interactions using Java and Web3 libraries.
- Write, test, and deploy smart contracts in Solidity or equivalent languages.
- Build and maintain APIs and microservices exposing blockchain functionality to platform consumers and business applications.
- Implement asynchronous and event-driven processing for transaction lifecycles, on-chain state changes, and blockchain data synchronization.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain standards for code quality, readability, and test coverage.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product teams to translate requirements into maintainable software solutions.
- Create technical documentation including component design notes, API specifications, and integration guides.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the blockchain software stack in development and production.
- Participate in Agile delivery processes and sprint ceremonies.
- Stay current with blockchain and Web3 protocols, tooling, and emerging standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is required; a master’s or PhD is a plus.
- Extensive experience across the full software development and testing lifecycle.
- Proven backend web development expertise with Java and Spring.
- Experience developing production web applications using asynchronous programming and communication.
- Experience building reliable, scalable, and performant web applications using software engineering best practices and design patterns.
- Practical ability to develop software interacting with blockchain networks, including smart contract deployment and on-chain/off-chain data integration.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, clean code, testing, and maintainable software.
- Understanding of smart contract vulnerabilities and secure coding practices.
- Familiarity with Web3J, Web3JS, Solidity, Docker, Git, Jira, Jenkins, Hardhat, Foundry, and observability platforms is beneficial.
- Financial services experience, Web3 application development experience, DevOps knowledge, and Agile/Scrum familiarity are beneficial.
