Responsibilities
- Build customized automation solutions for ZEISS customers using electron microscopy workflows.
- Implement hardware automation and computer vision pipelines from microscope control and image acquisition through image preprocessing, object detection, segmentation, and statistical analysis.
- Apply deep learning and classical image processing methods.
- Work with application specialists and customers in interdisciplinary teams.
- Learn to operate ZEISS electron microscopes and use their advanced applications.
Requirements
- Have successfully completed at least two years of study in a STEM field.
- Have taken coursework in computer science, mathematics, physics, or another STEM subject and possess advanced programming skills.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency with Python and its scientific ecosystem, including NumPy, scikit-image, and pandas.
- Have general knowledge of classical image processing.
- Show curiosity, willingness to learn new subject areas, and interest in operating an electron microscope.
- Work independently and in a goal- and output-oriented manner.
- Have good communication skills for customer collaboration and enjoy working in agile, interdisciplinary teams.
- Fluent English or German is required; prior electron microscope experience is advantageous.
