Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy robust full-stack features from concept through production rollout.
- Own and evolve frontend architecture, including component libraries, design systems, state management, and module boundaries.
- Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for authentication, RBAC, billing workflows, and audit logging.
- Write secure, maintainable code and establish a risk-based testing strategy with strong end-to-end coverage.
- Develop internal productivity tooling and agent-based workflows while using AI coding tools.
- Conduct code reviews, promote engineering standards, and mentor teammates.
- Collaborate with product management, UX/UI design, and executive leadership on roadmap and user experience decisions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of commercial software engineering experience building and scaling SaaS products as a Full Stack Engineer.
- Upper-Intermediate to Advanced fluent English communication skills.
- Experience designing complex solutions, maintaining technical documentation, and applying API architectural styles, design patterns, and engineering standards.
- Experience defining frontend architecture, shared component libraries, and design systems used by multiple developers.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, modern JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and advanced React patterns.
- Backend development experience with Node.js or Python, with ability to work primarily in a Python/FastAPI codebase.
- Strong PostgreSQL skills including data modeling, schema design, complex queries, and aggregations.
- Commercial experience with distributed systems and event-driven patterns using message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Vitest, Playwright, Cypress, or pytest, plus code quality metrics and observability tools.
- Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and deploying and operating backend services on GCP or AWS.
- Ability to lead problem spaces independently, balance technical trade-offs, and work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience as a Founding Engineer, Tech Lead, or early-stage product company core team member.
- Preferred HealthTech, digital health, HIPAA, health insurance, FinTech, or payments experience.
- Preferred production experience with Stripe billing, subscriptions, and payment processing.
- Preferred familiarity with micro-frontends, Next.js, React Native, Expo, Go, Elixir/Phoenix, gRPC, Terraform, Kubernetes/GKE, MCP servers, CLI developer tools, or LLM-assisted automations.
- Preferred experience hiring, conducting technical interviews, and mentoring junior or mid-level engineers.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is desirable.
