Responsibilities
- Build customer-facing reports, dashboards, agentic workflows, and data insights that are accurate and performant.
- Turn fleet data into defensible guidance for fleet managers and leaders, including utilization, opportunity, and cost-tradeoff recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Data Team to surface data and insights through analytics products and AI-powered features.
- Design and engineer reporting, advanced analytics, and agentic modules within Fleetio.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers on feature design, architecture, planning, and implementation.
- Write well-tested, maintainable, and performant code; research prototypes and spikes to validate assumptions and technical feasibility.
- Review peer code, share knowledge, and contribute to development and planning decisions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
- At least 3 years of experience with React and TypeScript.
- Experience working with large datasets and crafting solutions for reports, analytics, and metrics.
- Experience writing and optimizing complex queries using SQL, CTEs, and ActiveRecord/Arel.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases, including PostgreSQL.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, query-performance optimization, and challenging architecture problems.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and excellent written communication skills.
- Experience integrating third-party tools and APIs with an emphasis on abstraction, maintainability, and user experience.
