Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services for Disney’s advertising platforms.
- Develop and maintain modern web applications for advertisers and internal teams.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, distributed service design, and cross-team technical alignment.
- Write new features and optimize existing services for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure code quality through testing, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and maintainable coding practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation, production support, monitoring, and incident investigation.
- Define and monitor technical and operational metrics and identify system optimization opportunities.
- Perform code reviews and mentor other engineers through design reviews and technical coaching.
- Collaborate with engineering teams in the United States and India on large-scale systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience building scalable distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in a coding language such as Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Experience with modern web frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres.
- Experience designing API-driven architectures and integrating model-serving or external services across cloud environments.
- Strong engineering fundamentals in testing, CI/CD, and maintainable code practices.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience includes large-scale distributed systems, Spring Boot or similar backend frameworks, ReactJS or similar frameworks, Kafka or Kinesis, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and high-throughput or low-latency systems.
