Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end backend and data collection features in partnership with Endpoint engineers.
- Own components from requirements and design through implementation, validation, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
- Develop high-throughput data pipelines using Java, Kafka, Kafka Streams, and distributed systems.
- Run and operate services on AWS with monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with Product and other teams to deliver core Nexthink platform functionality.
- Maintain strong automated testing, code quality, automation, and maintainability practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with backend or data-intensive systems.
- Strong Java skills and deep JVM knowledge, including Java 17 and Java 21.
- Understanding of concurrency, multithreading, thread safety, and concurrent data structures.
- Experience building microservices with Spring Boot or Micronaut.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with high-volume relational databases or data warehouses such as Postgres.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams, including stateless and stateful topologies.
- Hands-on AWS service experience, including monitoring, alerting, and operational practices.
- Strong automated testing experience covering unit and integration testing.
- Experience with agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Desirable experience includes DevOps, GitOps, infrastructure as code, FluxCD, Helm, Kustomize, ClickHouse, DataDog, and Prometheus/Grafana.
