Base Salary
$144k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and own quality strategies, standards, practices, and test architecture for complex product and platform initiatives.
- Build and extend automated UI, API, backend, performance, load, stress, soak, scalability, and NFR testing frameworks.
- Lead cross-functional quality initiatives across multiple engineering teams and collaborate with development, product management, UX, and infrastructure teams.
- Integrate performance tests and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines and establish performance SLAs.
- Profile systems, analyze test and production results, and improve monitoring, observability, resilience, and incident prevention.
- Analyze system resource utilization and validate backend services built on Node.js and MongoDB in production-like environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software quality engineering experience, including leading quality for major products or platforms.
- Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript or Java and deep knowledge of modern test automation frameworks.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools including Artillery, JMeter, and Gatling.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB performance tuning and profiling.
- Deep knowledge of HTTP, REST, microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and system resource utilization under load.
- Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Harness.
- Experience influencing engineering culture and product quality through technical leadership and collaboration.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup and meet onsite with engineering leadership in the Bay Area.
- Preferred experience includes Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, chaos or failure testing, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, and security or compliance testing.
- Experience in fintech, accounting, or B2B SaaS domains is a plus.

- Base pay range is $144,000–$213,000.
