Responsibilities
- Define and govern technical standards, best practices, architecture, and roadmaps for WMS modifications, migrations, and integrations.
- Serve as a technical advisor to stakeholders and align development and architecture with customer goals and organizational standards.
- Conduct architecture reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical workshops.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, code-review guidance, and support for developing future technical leaders.
- Own end-to-end project delivery and guide assigned engineers through software package delivery.
- Analyze customer requirements and business objectives and propose technical solutions.
- Provide technical input and high-level estimates for pre-sales activities, proposals, and design workshops.
- Participate in solution design and design reviews.
- Plan and manage software releases, rollouts, patches, schedules, and release notes.
- Ensure code and documentation receive peer reviews and that feedback is addressed.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, especially AI/ML, and lead proofs of concept and scalable solutions for measurable customer ROI.
- Collaborate with Data Science teams to integrate AI/ML models into warehouse operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline; MCA or MSc in Computer Science is also listed as an example qualification.
- 12–15 years of total professional experience.
- Strong experience with Java, Ext JS, JavaScript, PL/SQL, Python scripting, and software package delivery.
- Experience with test management and test execution.
- Experience with source code control and build systems such as GitHub and Jenkins.
- Proficiency with Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems, including command-line usage.
- Working knowledge of JIRA for issue and project tracking.
- Experience handling development teams, code reviews, mentoring, code refactoring, build processes, IDEs, and database tools.
- Prior experience with ERP, Blue Yonder, JDA, RedPrairie WMS, or other WMS platforms is advantageous.
- A professional certificate such as TOGAF is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, AI tools, and work tracking through Kanban dashboards.
- In-depth knowledge of software development best practices and database tools such as SQL Developer and SQL Management Studio.
