Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, code, debug, and maintain BMC firmware for server hardware.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineering, BIOS, platform architecture, firmware, quality assurance, customer support, and field application teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve firmware and hardware issues reported during development and after product release.
  • Plan and execute reliability, compatibility, testing, and validation strategies across hardware platforms and environments.
  • Conduct unit testing and use automated test environments to verify firmware quality, stability, and functionality.
  • Provide technical support for BMC and hardware-firmware integration issues and assist customers with troubleshooting.
  • Document firmware designs, specifications, troubleshooting procedures, and technical solutions.
  • Present technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming, with a solid understanding of embedded systems and firmware development.
  • Experience with embedded Linux systems is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with SoC architecture, ARM-based systems, and AST2x00 controllers is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of server hardware architecture, IPMI 2.0, BMC interfaces, and related protocols.
  • Experience with AMI and Avocent SDK is advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, prioritization, and task-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation and explain concepts clearly.
