Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable APIs, services, and accessibility-first user interfaces.
- Build AI-native features supporting carbon accounting, ESG data collection, and sustainability planning.
- Evolve the platform into modular, event-driven, API-first components and make architectural trade-offs for scalability, performance, maintainability, and product impact.
- Own application reliability and operational excellence, including telemetry, SLOs, error budgets, on-call rotations, incident response, and continuous service improvement.
- Champion application-level DevOps practices, including deployment automation, monitoring, and application operations, while collaborating with Platform Engineers.
- Mentor engineers, lead technical design discussions, and raise engineering standards across the team.
- Own quality and production readiness through automated testing, documentation, security, performance, and maintainability practices.
- Partner with Product Management, Design, AI, Platform Engineering, and other engineering teams to discover and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve platform architecture and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong full stack software engineering experience across front-end and back-end development.
- Experience with modern front-end technologies, particularly React or similar frameworks.
- Strong back-end engineering experience, ideally with Go or comparable general-purpose programming languages.
- Experience designing and building scalable APIs, services, and cloud-native applications.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, deployment, monitoring, automation, and incident response practices.
- Experience delivering secure, observable, high-quality production software.
- Strong focus on code quality, automated testing, documentation, performance, and maintainability.
- Ability to lead technical design discussions and influence architectural decisions.
- Effective collaboration and communication across Product, Design, Platform, and Engineering teams.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is desirable.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, distributed systems, microservices, or relational databases such as PostgreSQL is desirable.
- Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to engineering standards is desirable.
- Experience with AI-enabled, data-intensive, sustainability, carbon intelligence, ESG reporting, or enterprise SaaS products is desirable.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and standards such as GHG Protocol, CSRD, or SBTi is desirable.
- Familiarity with observability, reliability engineering, SLOs, error budgets, and production incident management is desirable.
