Responsibilities
- Optimize critical backend microservices and improve common libraries used across Wise teams.
- Develop organization-wide code-based strategies for capacity, autoscaling, resiliency, performance, and redundancy.
- Deep-dive into team services, recommend reliability best practices, and implement improvements.
- Troubleshoot application, database, and data-related issues while contributing hands-on software engineering work.
- Collaborate across product and platform engineering teams to improve service reliability, performance, compliance, and customer experience.
Requirements
- Product engineering background with hands-on software engineering experience in Java or other backend languages.
- Strong experience working with microservices in Kubernetes and cloud-based architectures.
- Experience applying development, resiliency patterns, and observability practices.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting application, database, and data-related issues.
- Strong collaboration, prioritization, and time-management skills, with the ability to influence reliability priorities across teams.
Benefits
- Starting salary of £87,500–£111,000 plus RSUs.
