Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop advanced video-streaming applications for Android Mobile and Android TV.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable Android code and optimize performance, memory usage, and responsiveness.
- Design and implement complex features aligned with technical feasibility and project goals.
- Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Implement and optimize HLS, DASH, DRM, and adaptive-streaming functionality.
- Troubleshoot playback, buffering, and streaming-quality issues.
- Integrate third-party SDKs for analytics, ad serving, and player enhancements.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and backend teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and integrate APIs.
- Define technical strategies and mentor junior and mid-level engineers through knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops.
- Stay current with Android and video-streaming tools and technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–12 years of professional Android development experience.
- Proven experience developing and deploying video-streaming applications at scale.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
- Strong understanding of Android frameworks, architecture components, and MVVM or MVP design patterns.
- Expertise with HLS, DASH, codecs, DRM systems, and adaptive streaming technologies.
- Experience with ExoPlayer and other video playback libraries.
- Familiarity with WebSockets and backend integration.
- Expertise in performance optimization, memory management, and multithreading.
- Experience developing for Android TV.
- Familiarity with Firebase, Crashlytics, and analytics platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, and work extended hours when needed.
