Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, debug, and performance-tune custom Progress 4GL programs within the QAD ERP environment.
  • Build and support integrations between QAD and external systems, including EDI, reporting, and third-party tools.
  • Manage OpenEdge database objects, including schemas, triggers, stored procedures, data dictionaries, and indexes.
  • Participate in QAD upgrade and patch projects and rework customizations as needed.
  • Translate functional specifications into technical designs and working solutions.
  • Document technical designs, custom code, and integration specifications.
  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support for ERP-related issues.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and end users to refine requirements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on Progress 4GL/ABL development experience.
  • Strong experience with Progress OpenEdge, preferably version 11.x or higher.
  • Proficiency in Progress database administration, including schema management, data dictionaries, and indexes.
  • Experience with AppBuilder, Architect, Procedure Editor, and PDSOE.
  • Understanding of client-server and multi-tier Progress architectures.
  • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and modify complex legacy Progress codebases.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred experience with QAD ERP development and QAD functional knowledge in OTC, Finance, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain.
  • Preferred familiarity with QAD .NET UI, QAD Reporting Framework, Progress WebSpeed, REST APIs, OpenEdge Business Logic Server, Git, SVN, CI/CD pipelines, EDI standards, and integration middleware.
