Responsibilities
- Lead technical qualification, customer discovery, target architecture design, effort estimation, and risk assessment for Databricks pursuits.
- Develop technical proposal content and Statements of Work and maintain relationships with customer architects and stakeholders.
- Provide architectural oversight throughout delivery, validate alignment with the proposed scope, and surface technical risks early.
- Design and guide Databricks Lakehouse platforms, migrations, consolidations, data engineering solutions, AI and machine learning workloads, governance, and consumption economics.
- Define the technical scope, success measures, evidence, standards, and frameworks for market-facing Databricks service offerings.
- Collaborate with Databricks field teams, specialist architects, and customer technical stakeholders to resolve challenges and drive outcomes.
Requirements
- Substantial hands-on Databricks experience gained through a Databricks partner, Databricks directly, or management of a significant internal Databricks Lakehouse environment.
- Deep expertise in Lakehouse architecture and platform design, enterprise migration and consolidation, and data engineering, with sufficient proficiency to identify when specialist support is needed in other areas.
- Proven success delivering enterprise-scale migration and consolidation initiatives and the ability to discuss a major migration project, lessons learned, and outcomes.
- Experience operating and supporting production machine learning or AI solutions beyond proof-of-concept implementations, including operational, governance, and maintenance considerations.
- Proven principal-level technical leadership as a recognized senior technical authority who can commit organizations to scopes, architectures, and technical approaches.
- Presales experience, or delivery leadership demonstrating the ability to lead customer discussions, define scopes and solution approaches, develop proposals and Statements of Work, and stand behind technical commitments.
- Comfort working with and responding to challenges from vendor architects and technical specialists.
- Databricks certification is preferred, with support and funding available to obtain certification quickly if needed.
