Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Scala-based microservices.
- Build and support reliable, scalable, high-availability services for acquisition and retention platforms.
- Develop real-time systems, high-throughput APIs, and low-latency data processing solutions.
- Collaborate with backend, product, AQA, iOS, and Web engineers to deliver full-stack features.
- Debug technical issues across owned and dependent systems and troubleshoot production incidents.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Improve system performance, stability, uptime, and responsiveness.
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of backend development experience, including at least 2 years of Scala production experience.
- Strong knowledge of functional programming principles and practices.
- Experience with real-time systems, high-throughput APIs, and low-latency data processing.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and message queues such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL and non-relational databases such as Cassandra and Redis.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on clean, maintainable code.
- Preferred: experience in sports betting, fintech, or other regulated industries; exposure to CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, observability, KYC/AML, and responsible gaming.
