Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, user stories, designs, and project documentation to determine automated test scope and strategy.
  • Create, present, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for functional, API, system integration, and backend validation testing.
  • Identify, create, and maintain test data sets and write simple to highly complex SQL statements for data verification.
  • Coordinate automated testing across multiple environments to reduce redundancy, risk, and erroneous defects.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and cross-functional project teams on test planning, feasibility, testability, and automation standards.
  • Maintain automated test documentation, reporting, metrics, and quality assurance artifacts.
  • Assist DevOps with continuous integration and recommend improvements to automation frameworks and processes.
  • Provide testing baselines, level-of-effort estimates, and task allocations for complex projects and changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math, with a master’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience is considered.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer.
  • Experience with QA tools, preferably TestRail, and collaboration tools such as JIRA and/or Confluence.
  • Expert knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and automated testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, and Jenkins.
  • Programming experience in one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript; JavaScript/TypeScript is preferred.
  • Experience with automated frameworks, metrics, data verification, and report testing using tools such as Jasper and Tableau.
  • Experience with DevOps, Test-Driven Development, functional automated testing, databases, and SQL.
  • Experience testing in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
  • Familiarity with Windows, UNIX, and/or Linux environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, ownership, collaboration, and process-improvement skills.
  • Certification in agile development methodology is preferred.
