Responsibilities

  • Develop the control plane for a cloud DBaaS platform.
  • Build highly scalable distributed systems.
  • Develop controls to provision, destroy, scale, and back up database clusters.
  • Create telemetry and logging that provide proactive signals and alerts to engineering teams and customers.
  • Orchestrate complex workflows across database engines.
  • Automate operational playbooks for upgrades, security patching, and other database maintenance events.
  • Track cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes operators, control-plane patterns, and the DBaaS landscape to inform technical strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience delivering complex cloud-scale distributed systems, particularly involving data and OLTP databases.
  • Experience with Golang and gRPC.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and deployment pipelines, including GitHub Actions.
  • Preferred experience with orchestration engines such as Temporal.
  • Preferred operational experience with MongoDB.
  • Systems thinking and the ability to form strong, adaptable technical opinions.
