Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and analyze scalable, high-performance cloud data plane features.
- Build services that inspect HTTP and other network protocols at line rate and detect threats in near real time.
- Develop DLP, threat protection, key management, and secure web gateway capabilities.
- Use C/C++, Go, and Python along with advanced algorithms and data structures to optimize performance.
- Write production code, unit tests, automation, documentation, and CI/CD workflows using AI coding tools.
- Evaluate AI-generated code and tests for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute to distributed systems architecture focused on scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Review teammates’ code and provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, product managers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of industry experience building high-performance data plane services.
- BSCS or equivalent required; MSCS or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience using AI coding agents and assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor across the software development lifecycle.
- Expertise in C/C++, Go, and Python.
- Strong knowledge of network and web security technologies, including firewalls, web security, IDP/IPS, and DNS-based security.
- In-depth knowledge of IP, TCP, TLS, HTTP, WebSocket, HTTP Proxy, GRE, IPSec, SSL, and VxLAN.
- Experience with RESTful web services, data modeling, Kafka, NATS, and gRPC.
- Experience capturing and analyzing packets with Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, plus extensive Linux systems knowledge.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, multithreading, CPU scheduling, memory management, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience with gdb, Valgrind, unit testing frameworks, performance optimization, and scalability of complex systems.
- Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
