Responsibilities
- Automate the lifecycle of AWS Aurora instances and reduce manual database operations.
- Contribute to the technical vision, maintenance, and cloud migration of relational and non-relational databases.
- Design high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions supporting 99.99% availability, multi-AZ deployments, and multi-region operations.
- Modernize database designs and implementations to improve platform reliability, resiliency, and scalability.
- Collaborate with application, platform, and other engineering teams on short- and long-term technical initiatives.
- Perform root-cause analysis, remediation, and documentation to minimize incidents.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of backend engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or an advanced degree with no relevant experience; 5+ years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Experience with cloud-native databases, preferably AWS-based databases.
- Experience with AWS Aurora, AWS RDS MySQL, Percona MySQL, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
- Experience designing cloud-based high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, automation, and orchestration tools including Ansible, Terraform, Spacelift, AWS Step Functions, or CloudFormation.
- Ability to work effectively on projects and cross-functionally with other teams.
- Experience in payments or FinTech is preferred.
