Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the reliability, scalability, availability, and performance of production services.
  • Participate in a 2.5-hour on-call rotation and one paid weekend on-call shift per month.
  • Develop and manage complex hybrid infrastructure, primarily multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters, using infrastructure as code.
  • Manage incidents and identify system failure modes, scalability limits, workarounds, and long-term resolutions.
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, documentation, and operational knowledge sharing.
  • Automate repetitive processes and design and execute solutions aligned with team goals.

Requirements

  • Experience operating mission-critical services and owning reliability, uptime, and SLAs.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
  • Production experience with containers and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Nomad.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Helm, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as Grafana, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, and BetterUptime.
  • Experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Programming skills in Python and/or Go.
  • Relational database management system experience.
  • Proficiency in Linux and shell environments.
  • Ability to reason about systems, edge cases, failure modes, behaviors, and specific implementations.
  • Availability aligned with the Americas time zone.
