Base Salary
$600k - $1066k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical vision and roadmap for reward modeling, utility estimation, and multi-objective optimization.
- Develop auction-based and constrained-optimization approaches for allocating promotional real estate.
- Partner with technical and nontechnical teams to align AI/ML capabilities with business priorities.
- Integrate utility layers, reward signals, and optimization systems across member-facing AI models.
- Design and run offline experiments and A/B tests measuring business and member-experience impact.
- Contribute through mentorship, code review, and improvements to engineering practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience applying machine learning in an industry setting and delivering impactful production systems.
- Master’s or PhD in computer science, statistics, mathematics, operations research, physics, or a related computational field.
- Deep expertise in machine-learning and optimization algorithms and frameworks, including training, tuning, and deploying production models.
- Experience with reward modeling, utility estimation, constrained optimization, or auction-based allocation systems.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and experience with Scala or Java.
- Experience partnering effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Ability to scope problems pragmatically while maintaining rigorous engineering standards.
