Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain IBM iSeries/AS400 applications using RPG III/IV/ILE, free-format RPG, CL, and COBOL.
  • Design and work with DB2/400 databases, including data modeling, SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues within SLA timelines.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA professionals, project managers, and onsite/offshore teams.
  • Support code reviews, testing, documentation, deployment, and release management.
  • Implement integrations using APIs, web services, MQ, and file transfers.
  • Ensure compliance with client standards, security policies, and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience is required; the detailed experience criteria specify 5–8+ years of hands-on IBM AS400 development.
  • Strong expertise in RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, free-format RPG, CL, and COBOL on AS400.
  • Proficiency in DB2/400 database design, queries, and stored procedures.
  • Experience with integration techniques including APIs, web services, MQ, and file transfers.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.
  • Experience with SDLC activities including requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills with onsite/offshore teams.
  • Minimum 15 years of full-time education.
