Responsibilities
- Develop and support solutions on the Sophis platform for Equity Derivatives IT.
- Design, implement, enhance, and maintain applications and services using C++.
- Build and tune Oracle PL/SQL solutions, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Create and maintain database objects and designs such as functions, triggers, materialized views, schemas, and database management structures.
- Translate technical and functional requirements in collaboration with project managers, business analysts, and developers.
- Provide production platform support through a team rota, including occasional weekend coverage.
- Implement automated tools and practices as part of the DevOps transformation and contribute to accelerated release practices.
- Support enterprise integrations using MQ, XML, and web services.
- Work with global development teams to deliver projects across multiple locations.
- Use AI tools in daily work to improve productivity and outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong programming capability in C++.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Deep understanding of C++ internals, including memory management, STL or collections, and transaction management.
- Working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience creating and maintaining database objects, functions, triggers, materialized views, schemas, and database management structures.
- Working knowledge of Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Maven, and Ansible in agile and DevOps delivery environments.
- Working knowledge of MQ, XML, and web services for enterprise integrations.
- Ability to support enterprise production systems with awareness of incident time criticality and structured problem-solving approaches.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global, diverse development teams.
