Responsibilities
- Lead complex technology initiatives with broad companywide impact.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and review large-scale technology solutions.
- Develop standards and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions.
- Build APIs and microservices as part of application modernization efforts.
- Lead projects and teams, mentor junior developers, and coordinate a small team of developers and QA engineers.
- Perform code reviews, refine technical requirements, make architectural decisions, and coordinate deployable releases.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and architecture and design artifacts.
- Promote Agile, DevOps, and cloud-native engineering approaches.
- Collaborate with technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and emerging-technology events.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or relevant experience in software development, is desired.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns.
- Experience with Java, Java web application development, Spring, web services, JMS, Kafka, microservices, REST or GraphQL, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with AWS, PCF, or Azure cloud technologies and relational or NoSQL databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Experience with Gradle, GitHub, Jenkins, NPM, continuous integration, automation testing, BDD, and Cucumber.
- Experience with monitoring and metrics tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Elasticsearch, or Grafana.
- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies such as Azure DevOps, Azure Web App, Azure AD, AWS EC2, OpenShift, or Kubernetes is a plus.
- Front-end single-page application experience with HTML5, AngularJS, or ReactJS is a plus.
- Experience with SQL and query performance tuning.
- Ability to work in an Agile or product model, lead a team, and operate independently.
- Basic understanding of core banking and experience in the banking domain.
