Responsibilities
- Define the one- to two-year technical vision for core systems and align engineering goals with business outcomes.
- Architect and lead implementation of mission-critical, low-latency distributed backend systems for real-time personalization and 10x growth.
- Drive complex technical initiatives end-to-end across multiple organizations and make high-stakes architectural trade-offs.
- Coach senior and lead engineers and run high-level design reviews.
- Set standards for software quality, resilience, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with a track record of leading large-scale initiatives in a Staff capacity.
- Exceptional expertise in massive concurrency and low-latency distributed systems.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, or related industry experience.
- Experience defining one- to two-year technical visions aligned with business outcomes.
- Deep experience integrating AI/ML models into high-throughput backend production systems.
- Preferred: contributions to open-source distributed systems or infrastructure projects such as Go, Kafka, or M3.
- Preferred: a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
