Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails web applications.
Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs for frontend and external integrations.
Apply object-oriented design principles, SOLID principles, and design patterns to maintain modular codebases.
Integrate backend services with modern JavaScript frameworks including React and Vue.
Write secure, efficient, performant, tested, and documented code.
Use AI coding assistants and agentic coding harnesses, then review and validate generated code.
Debug, profile, monitor, and improve production systems under large-scale load.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, continuous improvement, and technical decisions.
Implement containerized services and deployments with Docker and optionally Kubernetes.
Mentor junior developers and maintain high engineering standards.

Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and Ruby language constructs.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
Proven experience building and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
Experience integrating modern frontend frameworks such as React and Vue.
Experience with scalable, production-grade systems.
Familiarity with SQL, ActiveRecord, performance tuning, and caching strategies.
Expertise with Git and code-review workflows.
Strong hands-on TDD experience with RSpec and understanding of testing strategies.
Practical familiarity with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI coding assistants.
Experience debugging, profiling, and monitoring production systems.
Preferred experience with agentic AI coding harnesses, Docker, Kubernetes, Sidekiq, Resque, CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring and alerting, microservices or SOA, Python, Go, Elixir, web and API security, and observability tools.
