Responsibilities
- Analyze designs, specifications, requirements, user scenarios, and existing coverage to identify validation needs.
- Design and maintain manual and automated tests for functional, integration, regression, API, exploratory, and solution-level testing.
- Execute tests, document results, report defects with evidence, and track issues through resolution and verification.
- Assess test coverage, identify gaps and risks, and estimate environment setup, test design, and execution work.
- Set up and troubleshoot physical and virtual test environments, including hardware, software, data, configuration, and containerized components.
- Create and maintain automated test scenarios using established frameworks and tools.
- Participate in planning, design reviews, requirements discussions, demonstrations, retrospectives, and other engineering-team activities.
- Collaborate with developers, product teams, DevOps, and test engineers to clarify behavior and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain test plans, traceability artifacts, installation procedures, environment documentation, and reusable test assets.
- Support release-readiness, deployment validation, and post-release investigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of professional software test engineering or quality engineering experience.
- Understanding of software test methodologies, test layers, quality practices, and the software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with test design, execution, coverage analysis, defect reporting, and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience working in Agile development teams and using Agile work-management tools.
- Experience testing APIs and using automation or test tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins, Postman, or TestNG.
- Working programming or scripting skills sufficient to use established automation frameworks.
- Basic working knowledge of Linux commands and file systems.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting software test environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, attention-to-detail, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently own assigned test deliverables and collaborate across disciplines.
- Preferred experience includes retail, POS, payments, transactional systems, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, virtual environments, integrated test environments, CI/CD pipelines, log analysis, observability tools, root cause analysis, and AI-assisted testing.
