Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve software, platform, and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues.
- Build and maintain GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines with standardized build, test, and deployment stages.
- Implement automated testing, quality gates, deployment strategies, and secure software delivery practices.
- Manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, Helm charts, and blue/green, canary, or rolling deployments.
- Automate infrastructure and delivery workflows using Terraform, Ansible, cloud platforms, and DevSecOps tooling.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, peers, and stakeholders on requirements, solution strategies, integration, and delivery.
- Support Location Strategy projects while maintaining governance, risk controls, policies, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in code reviews, technology communities, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Use monitoring and observability practices to support reliable digital services and customer experiences.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles across the full software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and source-code management.
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Experience with DevSecOps tools including SonarQube, Veracode, Wiz, and Prisma.
- Scripting or programming experience with Java, Python, or Bash.
- Experience implementing automated CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, testing, and deployment strategies.
- Strong knowledge of containerization, Helm charts, and blue/green, canary, and rolling deployment strategies.
- Knowledge of Kafka, Liquibase, MS SQL, and distributed or event-driven systems is valued.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as ELK, Kibana, Splunk, or AppDynamics is valued.
- Exposure to Agile practices using JIRA, Harness or release orchestration tools, Barclays TADS standards, cloud security practices, and AI-assisted development tools is valued.
- Ability to manage risk and controls, communicate complex information, advise stakeholders, and collaborate across functions.
