Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end software architecture and design for scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
- Build and enhance internal developer platforms using Backstage or similar plugin-based frameworks.
- Develop backend platforms and frontend applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript.
- Build data-driven interfaces that expose observability and operational insights.
- Define testing strategies covering unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end testing.
- Lead performance engineering, benchmarking, load testing, capacity planning, and system optimization.
- Apply secure coding practices and support security, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex distributed-system and production issues, lead incident resolution, and conduct postmortems.
- Lead code reviews, mentor engineers, and provide hands-on technical guidance.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives across frontend, backend, platform engineering, and developer experience.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in software development and system design with ownership of large-scale distributed systems.
- Required experience with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kubernetes, REST/API integrations, Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, and production support.
- Deep knowledge of software design, software architecture, data structures, algorithms, and distributed-system troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with unit, integration, and functional testing strategies and frameworks.
- Experience with performance engineering, system optimization, secure coding, application security, code reviews, operability, observability, monitoring, and reliability.
- Proficiency in frontend development with React and TypeScript.
- Experience building internal developer platforms, plugin-based architectures, and integrations with DevOps tools.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strongly preferred experience with Terraform/IaC, developer experience platforms, engineering metrics such as DORA, identity and authentication integrations, and observability platforms such as Splunk.
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills, including mentoring and influencing technical direction.
