Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain high-availability system solutions for stability, performance, and operational continuity.
  • Design and operate systems for reliability, scalability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
  • Lead automation and scripting for operational processes and incident-response workflows.
  • Configure, operate, and troubleshoot Linux/Unix systems, networks, applications, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement observability solutions using metrics, logs, and traces to support detection, diagnosis, and service improvement.
  • Perform incident triage, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, blameless post-mortems, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Support capacity planning, performance optimization, production readiness, and change management.
  • Contribute to operational documentation, quality assurance, standards, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members and influence stakeholders on reliability and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience applying observability practices to collect, analyze, and visualize metrics, logs, and traces.
  • Ability to write and maintain automation code and scripts using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, network administration, networking concepts, protocols, security, and system reliability.
  • Ability to design, deploy, and manage applications and infrastructure on AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar cloud platforms.
  • Ability to design and operate highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable systems with disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across systems, applications, and networks.
  • Knowledge of capacity planning, resource utilization monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to apply IT service management principles to incident, problem, and change management.
  • Ability to identify reliability risks and drive preventative improvements to application performance and availability.
  • Ability to work independently in complex or nuanced situations and support or coach others informally.
