Responsibilities
- Scale and evolve Ashby’s platform and infrastructure as customer and product demands grow.
- Optimize the recruiting DSL-to-SQL compiler and create developer tools around it.
- Build automated security and privacy guardrails for customer data.
- Enable canary deployments, gradual rollouts, and feature flags while reducing downtime and operational complexity.
- Define SLOs with business and engineering stakeholders and implement corresponding SLIs.
- Ensure external-service communication supports retries and circuit breakers.
- Implement infrastructure for event-driven architecture and a data warehouse.
- Contribute to developer tooling, monitoring, code reviews, and application-level reliability.
- Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation and debug production and infrastructure incidents.
- Own projects end-to-end with minimal oversight and communicate practices through written documentation and code.
Requirements
- Experience building infrastructure at a company at a later stage of growth, including working with millions of data points.
- Experience automating provisioning, monitoring, and release processes.
- Ability to work across infrastructure updates, security enforcement, database optimization, Kubernetes debugging, and TypeScript troubleshooting.
- Strong coding ability; reviewing and submitting code changes are part of the daily work.
- Ability to independently deliver projects, make technical decisions, manage project scope, and seek help when needed.
- Comfort evaluating infrastructure risk and balancing reliability with flexibility.
- Comfort with SQL and data modeling.
- Willingness to participate in interview panels and collaborate with engineering teams.
- Previous experience with Ashby’s technology stack is not required.
