Responsibilities
- Modernize legacy applications built with VB6, Synon, RPG, RPGLE, CLP, and IBM i/AS400 technologies.
- Use Generative AI, GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, and AI-assisted tools for code analysis, conversion, testing, and documentation.
- Design migration strategies and develop reusable frameworks, patterns, and best practices for enterprise application transformation.
- Build modern business applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, .NET MAUI, and Azure services.
- Design API-first architectures and service-based integrations within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Lead AI-driven modernization proofs of concept and pilots.
- Establish engineering standards, governance, and best practices for AI-assisted development.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders on secure, scalable solutions.
- Mentor development teams on application modernization, AI tools, and Microsoft development platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of software development experience.
- At least 5 years of VB6 application development and maintenance experience.
- Proven experience modernizing legacy applications to Microsoft technologies.
- Experience delivering large-scale application modernization or migration programs.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development tools and Generative AI technologies.
- Experience with enterprise business-critical applications and complex integrations.
- Experience with VB6, C#, .NET Framework, .NET, ASP.NET Core, .NET MAUI, WinUI, WPF, XAML, HTML5, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Synon, RPG, RPGLE, CLP, IBM i/AS400, DB2, SQL Server, stored procedures, and API development.
- Experience with Azure OpenAI, GitHub Copilot Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Services, prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, and Power Platform.
- Preferred experience converting VB6 applications to .NET MAUI, WinUI, or other modern Microsoft technologies.
- Preferred experience modernizing Synon, RPG, RPGLE, or AS400 applications and delivering Azure-based modernization programs.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture, application rationalization, and technical debt reduction strategies is preferred.
- Microsoft Azure certifications and experience in manufacturing, industrial, or enterprise ERP environments are preferred.
