Base Salary

$153k - $184k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute simulation test campaigns for autonomous vehicle verification and validation.
  • Develop simulation strategies with Product, Systems, and Safety teams.
  • Maintain and improve the scenario library across Abstract, Logical, and Concrete scenarios to support robust operational design domain coverage.
  • Identify testing gaps and derive requirements for test tools, simulation environments, and test frameworks.
  • Coordinate with internal tools teams and external vendors to evolve simulation and virtual testing toolchains.
  • Analyze and triage simulation results and develop dashboards and test reports for stakeholders.
  • Support development and integration teams and contribute to the robustness and safety of self-driving technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an engineering equivalent with 6+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience with virtual testing and simulation of perception and autonomous vehicle behavior.
  • Experience developing scenarios compliant with the ASM OpenSCENARIO standard, particularly Abstract and/or Logical Scenarios.
  • Experience developing test cases and test procedures.
  • Scripting experience in YAML and Python experience for data analysis.
  • Experience with software and system troubleshooting, system-level analysis, fault isolation, and identification.
  • Proficiency working in a Linux environment.
  • Working knowledge of basic probability and linear algebra.
  • Experience reporting progress and test results to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art approaches to autonomous vehicle validation.
  • Automotive or similar test and validation experience is a bonus.
  • Experience developing and validating sensor models, traffic vehicle models, and vehicle dynamics models is a bonus.
  • ROS experience is a bonus.
  • Ability to mentor lower-level engineers is a bonus.
