Responsibilities
- Develop and troubleshoot Python and/or Java REST APIs and related software.
- Set up and support local, shared, and cloud environments and resolve technical issues.
- Contribute to application implementation solution designs as a senior team member.
- Design, code, execute, and support performance, integration, user acceptance, and post-production testing.
- Participate hands-on in environment promotions and deployment activities.
- Lead production and non-production issue investigations, troubleshooting, and support.
- Provide development, integration, and troubleshooting assistance to team members.
- Follow software development standards, RBC development practices, and in-house tools and systems.
- Participate in Agile software development using Jira, Confluence, and in-house CI/CD pipeline tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and supporting production-level software.
- Experience coding with Python, Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience creating production REST APIs and related technologies in a large organization.
- Experience developing large, scalable, distributed systems in cloud environments.
- Experience with fully automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or an equivalent tool.
- Experience with JSON data processing and SQL and NoSQL storage systems.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, web application security, and REST API security.
- Experience with macOS, Unix, and Linux operating systems as a software developer.
- Experience with Agile methodologies using Jira and Confluence.
- Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Code.
- Preferred experience in a matrix environment and the ability to influence decision-makers across functions and businesses.
