Responsibilities
- Write high-quality, maintainable code in Elixir and Phoenix.
- Build and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems using Elixir’s concurrency model.
- Develop data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and transformation.
- Work with GCP cloud services and modern infrastructure practices.
- Implement event-driven architectures and real-time system components.
- Contribute to technical decisions, architecture discussions, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Design and implement reliable, secure, scalable system components while addressing complex technical challenges.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to deliver features and technical solutions.
- Uphold standards for code quality, testing, maintainability, and software development practices.
- Contribute to technical direction, team initiatives, process improvements, tools, and technologies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years of focused Elixir experience.
- Experience building and maintaining distributed systems in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Elixir/Phoenix and familiarity with the OTP ecosystem.
- Understanding of functional programming, concurrent system design, data engineering, distributed system patterns, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
- Experience with data pipelines and processing systems, databases, event streaming platforms, high-throughput systems, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Willingness to learn from and mentor other engineers.
- Startup, logistics or supply chain, OMS, WMS, TMS, Phoenix LiveView, GenServer, Erlang/OTP, message queue, event streaming, observability, monitoring, or open-source Elixir experience is preferred or advantageous.
