Base Salary
$220k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across teams and projects.
- Design, evolve, and support backend systems and architecture.
- Influence long-term technical strategy and balance delivery with platform health.
- Identify, forecast, and mitigate technical and operational risks.
- Create clarity around technical decisions in ambiguous situations.
- Set and uphold high standards for code quality and documentation.
- Consult on complex technical challenges and strategic initiatives.
- Sponsor new ideas and technologies to improve team effectiveness.
- Foster inclusive environments for engineers to thrive.
- Act as a force multiplier for teams and individuals.
Requirements
- 15+ years of professional experience in software systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails and backend system design.
- Proficiency in React/React Native.
- Strong understanding of full-stack architecture and scalable systems.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and REST APIs in production.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud-hosted infrastructure.
- Strong independent judgment in complex problem-solving.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
- Must reside and work permanently in the U.S.
