Responsibilities
- Drive the design and delivery of the Forge Cognition edge computing initiative as a senior developer.
- Define and own architecture patterns for distributed, resource-constrained, and intermittently connected environments.
- Architect and operationalize workloads on Google Distributed Cloud.
- Design, build, and scale Kubernetes deployments across edge and cloud environments using Azure, Google Cloud, and Alibaba.
- Lead cloud and hybrid architecture for scalability and resilience.
- Build and maintain Ansible automation for provisioning, configuration management, and fleet operations across distributed edge nodes.
- Develop core services, tooling, and integrations in Python.
- Architect IoT device connectivity, telemetry ingestion, data pipelines, and device lifecycle management solutions.
- Enhance platform engineering and developer enablement through reusable templates, self-service workflows, deployment guardrails, documentation, and automation.
- Lead and participate in architecture review boards, provide technical guidance, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, platform, and infrastructure teams.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience designing and implementing edge or cloud architectures for distributed systems, with expertise in Kubernetes, Python, Ansible, and cloud-native technologies.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and deploying scalable automation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, observability, and secure software delivery practices.
- At least 3 years of experience with distributed cloud, edge computing, and IoT platforms, including device management, telemetry pipelines, and large-scale system operations.
- At least 2 years of experience leading architecture initiatives, conducting design reviews, collaborating cross-functionally, and translating business requirements into technical roadmaps and implementation plans.
- Experience with edge security and zero-trust patterns is valued.
- Experience in regulated or industrial IoT domains, establishing architecture practices or Centers of Excellence, and working with developer portals, golden paths, service catalogs, internal platforms, or Backstage-style enablement is valued.
- Cloud or architecture certifications across Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, or related platform technologies are valued.
- Candidates must be a U.S. Person or have the ability to obtain an export authorization due to U.S. export control requirements.
