Sr Cyber Security Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Shape security strategy for cloud and on-premise environments.
- Implement detection and monitoring rules for IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and OT environments.
- Design, build, and improve AI/ML-enabled detection coverage, alert triage, threat prioritization, and response automation.
- Develop enterprise security platforms for monitoring, automation, and orchestration of physical and virtual IDS.
- Deliver automated alert triage, threat analysis, incident investigation, response playbooks, and escalation processes.
- Plan and execute incident response exercises and post-incident improvement activities.
- Drive enterprise vulnerability identification, prioritization, remediation, reporting, and tooling optimization.
- Build security integrations across cyber tools, IT systems, cloud platforms, and OT/product environments.
- Build automation around security operations and software development processes.
- Evaluate emerging security technologies, deliver proofs of concept, and perform technical assessments.
- Promote security engineering best practices through workshops, knowledge sharing, design patterns, standards, and code walkthroughs.
- Mentor junior and mid-level team members and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM major.
- For U.S.-based roles, 5 to 8 years of experience is required.
- Experience with large-scale cloud environments, performance and scalability troubleshooting, metrics, KPIs, and real-time monitoring.
- Exposure to cloud environments and the ability to develop viable technical solutions.
- Ability to evaluate technology, assess buy-versus-build decisions, analyze ROI, SWOT, and gaps, and connect technology initiatives to business drivers.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, collaboration, mentoring, and analytical skills.
